The first Insertions were created in 1998: at home, Andrea Loux crawled into the hollow of the living room table and found there the smallest possible of resting places, on the order of the innermost Babuschka doll: the house, the apartment, the room, the closet, the drawer... Meanwhile there exist nearly forty Insertions: performed at first with friends, later with selected groups of people, and finally in public spaces. What interests her at the same time is interacting with people at the respective location for a given insertion: the thin line between actively intruding in private spheres and the subjecting of oneself to unaccustomed forms of encounter.
